From April 2011, all of the clinical networks in Merseyside and Cheshire have been brought together under the same management structure to improve efficiency, make better use of resources and most importantly work together on cross cutting areas across the whole of the patients’ pathways.
The Merseyside & Cheshire Cancer Network was formed in 2000 and links together the organisations that provide care for people with cancer across Merseyside and Cheshire. The network covers a population of 2.3 million people.
We work closely with patients, carers, health professionals and managers to improve cancer services and to implement national and local NHS strategies.
The network harnesses the input of over 600 clinicians of all disciplines in all organisations (primary, secondary, public health and independent sector), 200 patient and carer representatives and a similar number of managers and related professionals (e.g. information analysts and health promotion specialists) in both commissioning and provider roles who collaborate to:
